Corporación Nacional Forestal (CONAF) is a Chilean private law corporation, dependent on the Ministry of Agriculture, in charge of administering Chilean forestry policy, promoting the development of the sector, fighting forest fires and managing protected wild areas such as national parks and national reserves. Its most visible personnel to the community are the so-called brigadistas, who fight forest fires, and the park rangers, responsible for protected wild areas.
