Biodiverse ecosystems are critical to the overall health of our planet, providing numerous essential ecosystem services that underpin human well-being and the global economy. However, we are facing a biodiversity loss crisis that threatens these processes and the ecosystems that facilitate them. The recently adopted Global Biodiversity Framework is a landmark statute that lays out an ambitious set of 23 global biodiversity conservation targets to be achieved by 2030.
