Naturalis is the Dutch national research institude for biodiversity. The national collection contains 14,9 million objects for studying biodiversity worldwide and Naturalis employs 120 scientists in seven different research groups. Data specialists work on automatic species identification and weaving biodiversity data together. Naturalis collaborated with COSMONiO to develop the DIOPSIS Insect Camera for automatic diversity and biomass data collection in the field.
