I’ve got a good idea for this! It’s comprised of three elements:

  1. An educational platform (e.g. like coursera etc.) with guides/courses explaining how to perform various software tasks such as training image classifiers, acoustic classifiers, data preprocessing, etc.; then how to build various hardware such as camera traps, RFID trackers, work with existing hardware. Regarding the hardware, showing how to work with the type of parts which are available in the places that wildlife folks are residing vs. the most expensive stuff from global north
  2. Server with GPU, and GUI, so that researchers can easily train their AI models for free. The costs of using google collab etc can be very prohibitive!
  3. Central repository server for wildlife datasets. Since these can be very hard to get hold of! * this will be the same server as above, so datasets don’t have to be downloaded + uploaded, which can be major issue in places w slow internet or reliant on paying for 4G instead
