Opportunity opens: 16 January 2024

Opportunity closes:  11 February 202

Background

In today’s dynamic business arena, acknowledging nature’s pivotal role—constituting over half of the global GDP—is crucial for us all. Green growth isn’t merely an opportunity; it’s a colossal $26 trillion one. The pathway to seizing this lies in embracing cutting-edge technologies—satellite and remote sensing data, AI, and cloud computing.

The challenge is crystal clear for businesses and financial institutions like yours—how can you actively contribute to biodiversity protection and nature-positive solutions?

This transcends surface-level ESG reporting, urging a fortified foundation, historical awareness, and a strategic move towards a sustainable, green future.

Amidst a deluge of data, the real challenge lies in pinpointing crucial data points. The World Wildlife Fund underscores that, in the next 3-5 years, satellite remote sensing data will emerge as the linchpin, unlocking insights into biodiversity impacts.

This isn’t just data; it signifies the very essence of future-proof sustainable business practices—a compelling narrative for companies looking to revolutionise industries and champion a greener, more sustainable future.

But, it isn’t only insight from data, it is overcoming the barriers to adoption including trust, authenticity and traceability of the data to ensure solutions developed can provide the intended improvements to nature and biodiversity.
