Participants Wanted! Research Proposal Evaluator

Hello WILDLABS Community!

My name is Patrick Da Silva, and I am a PhD Student in the Computer Science department at The Ohio State University. We are collecting feedback on a system we built for multi-domainliterature-based research proposal evaluation.

We are conducting a paid (~$25/hour) user study primarily targeting those with at least one paper published. We would love to include feedback from people studying Ecology/Biological Sciences.

Task Description

Your task is to create your own research proposal, generate an evaluation from our system (blind and randomized with another baseline system), and fill out a basic rubric scoring the output. Your proposal can be from an ongoing project, prior published/unpublished work, or something you have yet to start. Your ideas will not be shared publicly without permission.

Time & Compensation

The expected time for the user to create a research proposal, generate the evaluation, and score the rubric is 1 hour. Each user may submit up to 4 different research proposals for evaluation, paid $25 each for a total of $100 (Amazon gift cards).

Participants should be available in the first 3 weeks of September 2025.

Happy to discuss more about how we envision this system being helpful for all scientists, and any challenges this may face specifically for the Biological Sciences!
