AI Identification Models on Thermal Data

Hello, my name is Siddhi. I recently joined WildLabs and getting to know different groups. I hope that this is the right place to post!

I am interested in AI to identify animals(ideally, animals like deer) using a thermal imaging camera. Currently, I am using a raspberry pi 4 and have the thermal camera hooked up. My plan is to implement an AI model that is able to detect animals with a fairly high accuracy(80-90%) from the thermal camera video feed. Anyone know where I can find this model or whether I would have to train my own?

Let me know if you have any questions or clarifications, I would be happy to elaborate.
Any guidance is appreciated, thank you so much!

I can't help you with a model, but FWIW I know of one thermal camera trap dataset you may find useful for bootstrapping your training:

If you find the dataset useful, let the data contributors now!
