What Do Other Fields Most Often Underestimate About Your Work?

Conservation monitoring seeks decision-relevant signals at scale. Ecological research often pursues specific, project-driven questions. Technology research focuses on advancing sensing and automation. Where do these logics genuinely align, and where do they pull in different directions? Our aim is to clarify these differences in order to strengthen cross-sector collaboration.

If your primary work sits within conservation management, research in ecology/biology, or monitoring technology research, we’d love to take your perspective into account on this topic.

You can do so by answering 9 short questions (7 minutes max) here.

If the discussion leads to further collaborative work (e.g., a joint publication), and you would like to contribute, let us know at the end of the survey. Meanwhile, the results will be shared back in this thread and frame a round table at the Global Conservation Tech & Drone Forum (Nairobi, March 4, 2026).
