A great moth trap needs an equally great light. This is why we have recently designed the EntoCam Beam, an adjustable LED that combines 367 nm (UVA), 458 nm (Blue), 525 nm (green), and cool white 5700K draws in a wider diversity of species.
Since more than 95% of the energy consumption of an autonomous camera setup is drawn from the light, it is crucial to match your power consumption to your battery and duration, and vice versa. With the Beam, you can easily adjust the power of the LED with a knob, from 3-20 Watts. This allows you to select the power consumed to ensure that your experiment duration is respected. Here is a chart to help you select the battery size and light power for the EntoCam camera trap.

The Beam is available for purchase for 290 USD. Don't hesitate to reach out to us via our Outreach Robotics Website or email me at [email protected]
