Hey everyone,
I am Eugene, a co-founder of Animal Detect together with @HugoMarkoff. For almost a year now we are building an online platform to upload -> filter -> classify animals on wildlife datasets.
Yesterday we have pushed a major update to the platform - implemented SpeciesNet (model trained by Google team with 2000+ animal labels) and combined it with our own technology, boosting SpeciesNet results by 20-25%.
This is the first version, so bugs can happen. Try it out and please give us your feedback. You are the experts and only you can help us make the platform more useful!
Features:
-> More than 2000 animal labels on "Classification" step
-> Empty image removal -> everything that is not animal/vehicle/human will be put aside
-> Can "roll up"/"roll down" detections (kingdom <-> species)
-> Detect humans & vehicle
-> Country-based. No kangaroos in Greenland
-> Can download images sorted in folders, or scripts that will sort your original images in new folder structure
-> Can download simple .csv file or coco_labels annotations
Miss a certain animal specie in your country zone? Please write to us and we will manually add it. We are using full Taxonomy list from SpeciesNet but its not complete, its an ongoing work!
Here is a short demo using the new page. Full video with step-by-step walkthrough will come out later.

Hi Eugene,
This is exciting stuff!
I'm wondering if there are features that you think make Animal Detect unique. There are a lot of existing and well-known free, no-code camera trap image analysis tools (Wildlife Insights, Zamba, AddaxAI, ConservationAI, etc.), and I think it would be helpful to have a sort of comparison tool so people know what will work best for their use case.
I don't mean to imply anything negative about Animal Detect, just that given the limited time, funding, and human resources in conservation, it would be good to maximize collaboration and inter-operability :)

Great work @eugenegalaxy! Please consider Camtrap DP as one of your export formats.
