As summer dawns, for many it is holiday season, for others it is conference season, and for a lucky few... it is fieldwork season! If you’re looking for a chance to meet people with similar interests to your or those attending the same conference as you, look no further! Conferences can be an overwhelming and exciting affair, let’s get to know people before the conference, so that you’re sure to see some familiar faces!
The geospatial group leaders will be hosting a casual pre-conference networking event where people going to the same conferences or interested in the same topics have a chance to meet up and chat. No such thing as too many friends! We will break out into groups depending on conferences and interests to give everyone a chance to get to know each other.
The event will take place on June 25th at 3 PM BST/4 PM CEST/10 AM EDT
To organize the event and get an idea of topics, conferences and numbers, please take this survey to register: https://forms.gle/yQdrMeDFK9LKhRFm6
Whether you are attending conferences or not, summer is a great time to meet new people and learn from others. For those of us attending conferences, it is great to connect ahead of conferences where we may have the chance to see others in-person. You may also be lonely during summer fieldwork! If so, feel free to join as well. All are welcome.
See you soon!
