When you say looks all positive, I guess you mean all live wires instead of alternating live and ground? Alternating live and ground would mean a wolf would get a shock trying to jump through a pair of wires, whereas all live wires would more no shock if no part of the wolf touched ground when doing this. Is that what you mean?

Myself I don't know, but I'll check with the farmer who owns the field and with other's that know.

Haha, a good job generally either way. Yes, with DC nomenclatue I use pos for live and negative/ground (or Hot/Cold) for the same. We almost always alternate live with a negative/ground for predator fencing. The reason is that this adds redudnacy and potentially a lower resistance path back to the energizer especially in dry, sandy, or gravel soil. The animal also tends to get a stronger shock as the most common behaviour is sticking its head through. Contacting the pos and negative through its head causes a miserable shock!

But it looks like quite a good fence overall!

I looked in more detail at our system and I think it's using non-alternating, positive wiring, maybe with about one exception. But I'm not entirely sure.
