Dear Colleagues,
I hope this message finds you well. I am Manuel Sánchez Nivicela., an independent ornithology researcher based in Ecuador, focusing on South American bird species (see my work on ResearchGate). As you may know, funding for field expeditions, data analysis, museum visits, and publication has significantly decreased.
I am reaching out to inquire about potential small or medium grants to support the completion of 3–4 of my ~10 ongoing research projects, conducted as a research associate with two institutions in Ecuador. Some of this have been going on slowly since 2018 or 2021.
Unfortunately, both institutions face funding constraints due to the economic crisis, and my work on acoustics and evolution in paraphyletic groups often lacks prioritized support.
If you are aware of universities, organizations, or other funding sources that might support taxonomic and geographic distribution research, I would greatly appreciate your guidance.
Any suggestion is welcome.
Thank you and best regards,
Manuel

Hi Manuel,
Perhaps at this one Neotropical Birding and Conservation Fund
Also, the About page of the Funding and Finance Group has a list of resources that may help you find funding.
Perhaps you've found the page in the meantime. Sorry for my late reply. I was on holidays when you wrote and had overlooked your post after my return
cheers
