Join the 2026 #Tech4Wildlife Challenge! (Feb. 2-6)

For the 10th year in a row, we’re inviting the community to share photos and videos of how they’re engaging with technology for wildlife conservation. Participate to connect with the community, vote for your favorites, and have your work featured by Ladera Sur and at the 2026 International Conservation Technology Conference (ICTC)!

10 Years of the #Tech4Wildlife Challenge

Now in its 10th year, WILDLABS’ annual #Tech4Wildlife Challenge brings together the conservation technology community to celebrate the inspiring work and amazing accomplishments of our sector. Since its launch, the challenge has reached more than 1.5 million people globally and showcased over 1,000 conservation technology projects across ecosystems, regions, and disciplines. This year, #Tech4Wildlife will take place from February 2-6, 2026, with community voting February 16-19 and winners announced on February 20

To mark this milestone—and to coincide with the first International Conservation Technology Conference (ICTC 2026) in Lima—this year’s challenge invites participants to reflect on progress over time through a Then & Now theme. From early prototypes to mature platforms, from field trials to scaled impact, #Tech4Wildlife 2026 is a chance to look back at where your work began, share where it stands today, and reflect on the lessons learned along the way! Where relevant, participants are encouraged to submit paired photos or short videos (one from the past and one from the present) to show how their work, tools, or approaches have evolved.

How to Participate
  1. Select photos or videos of how you use technology in your conservation work, past or present! There is no entry limit per project, individual, or organization.
  2. Between February 2-6, 2026, share it on LinkedIn, X, Bluesky, or Instagram with a brief description. Use the hashtag #Tech4Wildlife and tag us at @WILDLABSNET.
  3. *New this year*: To be eligible for awards or features at ICTC 2026 and with Ladera Sur, entries must also be submitted through the official #Tech4Wildlife Challenge submission form. This allows us to collect permissions, photo credits, and contact details in a more standardized way. The form includes a field to link directly to your social media post.
  4. Follow #Tech4Wildlife to connect with other conservation tech projects and celebrate the global tech community!
  5. Vote for your favorite submissions between February 16-19! Winners will be notified on February 20 and announced thereafter.

Get Featured at the International Conservation Technology Conference (ICTC 2026)

Do you want a chance to have your photos and videos featured on the world stage at ICTC? This year, entrants have the opportunity for their submissions to be showcased to hundreds of global attendees at ICTC 2026, as well as by our friends at Ladera Sur

During the week of ICTC (February 16-20), community voting will be open across several award categories. Voting will take place through an online form, so that in-person ICTC attendees and the broader global community can participate. Submissions may be showcased throughout the conference, and then winners will be announced on the final day of ICTC (February 20).

*Please note that only entries that are both posted on social media and submitted through the form will be considered for awards and ICTC features.*
