📣 Exciting news from Appsilon! We're thrilled to announce that our flagship project, Mbaza AI, is expanding its impact on nature and biodiversity conservation. We’ve teamed up with the 🦏 Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya to test Mbaza AI and build a model for classifying images of plains animals that use their migratory corridors.
🤖 Mbaza AI is an open-source AI algorithm that allows rapid biodiversity monitoring at scale, and it has already established a strong presence in Gabon. The project was challenging but we’re happy to state that Mbaza AI is spreading out of the jungles of Gabon and into the plains of Kenya.
🔎 Why is it important?
With Mbaza AI's help, we can revolutionize wildlife monitoring and conservation efforts. By accurately classifying images of wildlife in real time, we can provide critical data on population numbers, movements, and behaviors. This information can inform conservation strategies and help protect these vulnerable species.
Our model is making the analysis process faster and more accurate, which means the scientists and conservationists can gather insights and make progress on wildlife research and management even faster (and focus on - you know - science). 🌍
