Computational Entomology Webinar II: Automated Pollinator Monitoring

Webinar on systems to monitor pollinators using images, AI and more!

Online Event

 Recording Available

Pollinators are probably the insects we hear about most in the media, but how much do we really know about their health? What do we need to know to stop their decline? Is it even possible to monitor them in real-world scenarios?

Join us for a four-part seminar and hear about:

Maximilian Sittinger (iDiv Halle-Jena-Leipzig) - Making automated insect monitoring accessible with the Insect Detect DIY camera trap

James Crall (University Wisconsin-Madison) - Automating pollinator monitoring for community and behavioral ecology with AutoPollS

Chantal Huijbers (Naturalis) - DIOPSIS: automatic cameras and image recognition for standardised, continuous monitoring of insect populations

Brian Spiesman (Kansas State University) - Improving data for species-level classification of bees

Discover four different approaches to pollinators monitoring, for both managed and wild insects, and don't miss the chance to ask our speakers questions!

This webinar is a joint event between the Global Innovation Network Programme on Automated Monitoring of Insects (funded by the Danish Ministry of Education and Science) and the International Research Coordination Network on Insect Decline (funded by the US National Science Foundation).
