Effective movement ecology studies rely on smart sampling decisions, yet real-world constraints often force trade-offs that can weaken inference. In this webinar, we introduce the movedesign R package and Shiny app, a simulation-driven framework to evaluate sampling strategies, quantify uncertainty, and support stronger study design decisions for projects and grant proposals. We also highlight the Trackyverse, a community-led initiative working to standardize tracking data formats, improve reproducibility, and foster the development of reliable, interoperable R tools, helping researchers turn rapidly growing tracking datasets into actionable science and management outcomes.
