IIMyC is a joint Executive Unit between UNMDP and CONICET, focused on scientific research and postgraduate training in marine and coastal ecology. It generates knowledge on the structure, function, and ecosystem services of marine/coastal interfaces—including dunes, saltmarshes, intertidal zones, and oceanic fronts—under environmental change. Its goal is providing tools for sustainable management through research, transfer, and outreach. It consists of three thematic areas: Biological diversity; ecological processes, structure, and function; and biogeosciences/environmental impacts. Activities focus on consultancy and developing tools to solve environmental problems sustainably.
