We are excited to announce a high-level program overview so you get a sense of what to expect. From hands-on technical workshops to big-picture discussions shaping the future of conservation, ICTC 2026 will bring the conservation tech community together across five days of programming in Lima, Peru.
Throughout 2 days of pre-conference workshops (Feb. 16-17) and 3 days of core conference sessions (Feb. 18-20), participants will:
- Build practical skills in conservation technologies
- Share real-world lessons from the field
- Explore how data, AI, and innovation are driving impact
- Tackle questions of access, governance, and equity
- Connect across disciplines, regions, and sectors
ICTC 2026 will showcase how conservation technology is being used to address some of the most urgent challenges facing biodiversity today, while also exploring what is needed to scale these solutions responsibly and equitably. The program brings together practitioners, technologists, researchers, Indigenous leaders, funders, and decision-makers to examine how tools, data, and partnerships are shaping conservation outcomes on the ground.
Across the conference, participants will encounter a wide range of biodiversity monitoring technologies operating across marine, terrestrial, and freshwater ecosystems. These include passive acoustic monitoring, camera traps, eDNA, insect monitoring systems, biologgers and wildlife tracking devices, drones, seismic sensors, and remote sensing platforms. Sessions will highlight how these tools are being applied in forests, marine protected areas, the Andes, Amazonia, and different landscapes across continents to track species, detect threats, and understand ecosystem change under climate pressure.
Here’s a high-level look at how the week unfolds. This overview highlights just a selection of planned workshops and conference sessions, with the full ICTC 2026 program to be released soon. Daily programming will generally run from around 8:30am - 6:00pm.
If these sessions sound appealing, make sure to register for ICTC soon before early registration tickets run out!

Question for colleagues in Africa (especially East Africa)
We’re interested in understanding who from Africa, particularly East Africa and Kenya, is planning to attend the WILDLABS ICTC.
We’re exploring whether a small number of Africa-based participants would be open to sharing short updates or reflections with the GCTDF community afterwards, highlighting practical lessons, tools, or approaches relevant to conservation technology and drones.
If you’re attending, or know someone who is, please comment here or message me directly.
Thanks, and best wishes for the ICTC discussions.

Hi Li,
For this first International Conservation Technology Conference, we focused on an in-person event, but we will definitely think about how to incorporate virtual options for future events to increase accessibility.

Dear,
If you are in Lima on Tuesday, February 17, we would love to have you at the “Co-Designing the South America Fire Grand Challenge Workshop | Igniting Innovation for Resilience”, to be held from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología (UTEC).
Wildfires across South America are increasing in frequency and intensity, threatening biodiversity, human health, and regional climate stability. Yet responses remain fragmented across sectors and countries. The South America Fire Grand Challenge aims to catalyse new technologies, partnerships, and locally grounded solutions to address this escalating crisis. In this co-creation workshop, participants will work together to map the context and community needed to launch such a challenge, building on the proven Fire Grand Challenge model implemented in Western North America.
This event is part of the International Conservation Technology Conference (ICTC) 2026, but anyone can register their interest in this section, even if they are not participating in the ICTC. Register your interest to participate in this section using the link below:
