The program prioritises, among others, assisted evolution, aquaculture/automation, cold water corals, and blended artificial and natural reefs ( more areas are listed in the call page )
The call supports novel R&D projects, improving and scaling up, translation R&D, basic science aimed at support of implementation of interventions, R&D capacity development, and local innovation and implementation. Funded projects are expected to 'quickly lead to significant discoveries, innovations and improvements'.
Eligible applicants are international and preferably interdisciplinary teams of at least 3 applicants. Organizations should come from at least two countries, one of which a low or middle-income country according to the OECD list. Organizations can be NGO's, for-profit organizations, higher education institutes, research institutes, or government organizations.
Grants are awarded for minimally 1 year and maximally 3 years.
Personal remark: please note that the word 'accelerator' in this call is not used in the same way as venture captital firms use it for their incubator and accelerator programs.
