An inclusive forum celebrating women leading conservation innovation—from drone-powered wildlife monitoring to geospatial analysis, AI, and data systems. Women in Conservation Forum (WiCF) is a core part of GCTF 2026 and leads directly into International Women’s Day.
Women in Conservation Forum (WiCF) will take place at the Trademark Hotel in Nairobi on Monday, 2nd March 2026.
We plan to host approximately 150–300 participants, with a modest USD 50 ticket fee to cover catering. The forum aims to showcase women-led conservation initiatives, offer mentoring and professional skills workshops, and foster meaningful connections among students, practitioners, and experts from Africa and beyond. We intend to foster shared learning, collaboration, and inspiration.
WiCF sits within the wider Global Conservation Tech & Drone Forum (https://www.gctdf.org/agenda) held 2-6 March 2026.
Our program includes:
- Professional skills workshops and mentorship sessions for students and early-career practitioners
- three keynote speakers in the Opening Plenary and Welcome Lunch,
- Posters displayed throughout the day
- then into thematic speed talks
- Open Panel Discussion
- Women in Conservation Awards
- Rooftop cocktail networking evening at the Trademark (17.30 - 19.30)

This looks like a great initiative, especially the mix of mentoring, workshops, and networking for early career professionals. Will there also be options for remote participation or recordings for those who cannot attend in Nairobi?
