The Climate Change AI Virtual Summer School is back for 2026. This five-week virtual program offers lectures and hands-on tutorials exploring how artificial intelligence can be responsibly and impactfully applied to climate action.
Participants will gain essential grounding in AI, climate change, and their intersection, while also exploring a wide range of AI-for-climate applications. The program includes foundation modules on technical and socio-technical topics, as well as sectoral modules that highlight opportunities, limitations, and practical considerations across climate-relevant areas.
The summer school is designed for a global audience across sectors and career stages, including researchers, practitioners, decision-makers, students, entrepreneurs, civil society professionals, and public sector participants. It is particularly relevant for those with some prior engagement in either AI or climate-related work who want to better understand how these areas connect.
Lectures will take place at different times of day to support participation across time zones. Lectures will also be recorded and made available for asynchronous viewing, and tutorials will be completed by participants at their own pace.
