This course is great to get a basic understanding prior to jumping into the DOSITS.org style advanced lessons, scientific seminars and talks that assume a level of basic understanding prior to participating. This is an introductory level course for understanding the methods of collecting and study design for acoustics and then the processing methods and how to use the data in applications of scientific research. Would be great for someone uninitiated like an undergrad, intern or someone that has not worked with marine mammals or is not familiar with acoustic research methods previously.

Overall I think it's well setup and progresses nicely through the lessons, providing a summary and foundation to using acoustic in a research setting.

Hi Wildlabs community, first thank you for making this course. I reviewed positive and negative of a bird species in BirdNet analysis, my question how can we extract data from Neg/Pos audio files for further analysis? What program that can be used for extract? Can you extrat with R and please share the link if possible? Thank in advance.

Good Morning,

In section 3, under the 'software tools...' there is a mention of attaching Tom's Guide, but no following link. I've done a quick perusal of Tomsguide.com but wasn't particularly successful, and was wondering if you would be able to include the link?

Thank you very much.
