I joined joined the Cape Leoaprd Turst (CLT, www.capeleopard.org.za) team in March 2010 coordinating a large-scale camera trap survey in the Boland Mountain Complex (BMC) of the Cape Fold Mountain Range. We recorded mammal distribtution and leopard distribution and diensity in the BMC study area. I later completed a leopard scat analysis study to investigate the diet of the leopards in their BMC study area and coordinated the “Leopards in the Fynbos” interpretive signboard project. Nore recently I've been investigating the threats to leopard survival specific to the BMC study area, launching a Snare Patrol and Removal Project and creating awarness and running workshops with stakeholders. Currently we're focussing our attention on a provincial scale, collating leopard distribution and threat data, working towards habitat suitability analyses and occupancy studies. We're also taking a stragic approach towards long-term monitoring of focal leopard populations accross the province.
