Adding my 2 cents here... and I'm being generous with the value of my comment, maybe just 1 cent... AI should be able to help a lot with the recognition tasks. Edge Computing AI, done in the camera module might have to be custom developed for the application, but if you have the AI folks... (read more)

I am doing the almost same thing, since here we have a problem between elephant and human living in the same area and conflict a lot. We would like to warn people when elephants are approching by camera trap's detection of elephants.

Yes - good points in there about why traditional attempts at these attempts have hit a ceiling - we have some great approaches to that - will have some prototypes to share very soon, but happy to tell people about these ideas if interested. (read more)
