Introducing the Key Conservation App

Helping people engage with conservation in an easy, effective, and rewarding way is more important than ever, and the upcoming Key Conservation app aims to bring conservation directly to supporters around the world! By shifting the way supporters fund conservation efforts, providing actionable steps to help organizations with needs big and small, creating a real-time feed and location-based opportunities to connect, and letting supporters see exactly how their donations or efforts have helped via direct updates, Key Conservation combines funding, public engagement, and storytelling in a powerful mobile platform. Visit their website to learn more about Key Conservation's upcoming features, opportunities for organizations and researchers to be part of the app, and their crowdfunding campaign to launch the finished app after seven years of development!

Check out these highlights of in-development and future features, all designed to make supporting conservation a more personal, streamlined, and direct experience!

A New Way to Fund Conservation

KEY1

When the Key Conservation app is released, it'll feature real-time updates from organizations showcasing what they're working on, allowing supporters to contribute in response to immediate needs and challenges. The WILDLABS community in particular will also be interested in future plans to include individual researchers in this feature, creating an avenue to find funding and support for your projects outside of traditional grants and academic funding!

See Your Impact

KEY2

One of Key's most innovative uses of this platform is its method of "closing the loop" of supporter engagement. By offering the unique chance to see exactly how contributions made an impact in the field, via a photo or video sent to those who helped fund that project, the app lets organizations interact with supporters in a way not often seen in traditional fundraising campaigns, and gives the public a real sense of participation in conservation from wherever they are in the world!

Local and Community-Based Engagement

Mobile apps let conservation reach people around the world, something that is especially important during the COVID pandemic while travel and face-to-face engagement is limited. Key allows you to support organizations and projects near and far, find conservation efforts that support your local wildlife, connect with others from the conservation field, and (when it's safe to do so again!) find opportunities to engage in-person.

App Sneak Peak: Our In-Person tab! This section of the app is especially exciting because this is where individuals can pull up a map of where they are in the world and see what conservation organizations are around them! pic.twitter.com/QiBUw620hO
