Orcasound is a hydrophone network and open source software design/development community. We build tech to acoustically monitor, study, and conserve soniferous marine species -- starting with the endangered Southern Resident killer whales. Thus, we are focused on increasing abundance of their prey, Pacific salmon, and reducing underwater noise pollution in their critical habitat. Our crown-jewel is a live-listening web app that lets humans and machines listen for orcas and monitor their soundscape in real time.
