Hey all, this came up in journal club today (journal club is great and you should come). I know a lot of us end up having to train others in how to use hardware or software tools, whether that's hands-on, writing documentation, by phone or video; for new students in an academic lab, for new employees of a company or NGO, for citizen science participants; etc. 

Something I've definitely struggled with is how to best teach people how to use these tools--how to explain things, when to let people struggle vs help directly, etc. 

Can anyone recommend resources focused specifcally on this problem (ideally related to conservation/ecology) or is this something that folks would be interested in doing a more in-depth discussion on?
