Troubleshooting: Trophy Cam Agressor

I work in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. I have a Trophy Cam Agressor from 2015 (model 119776). It started to record date time wrongly with delays of different magnitude. I reinstalled firmware bs685bwyx08236 on all, in spite of having the last firmware already, in the hope of solving the problem. Camera do not enter setup nor operating mode. Screen off. What happens is that motion sensor blinks red like detecting both in setup or operation mode. Trying reinstall again firmware doesn´t works. Is there any way to fix this? Bushnell tells me to send the camer….Sending a camera to repair from Argentina to USA is a nightmare and can be as expensive as a camera in the end…any alternative workaround?

Hi aschiavini,

I just had a quick look at the manual and the firmware updating process as I am not familiar with this camera. I take it the camera also can no longer tell you the firmware version (from the Bushnell site: To double check Firmware version, slide the power switch to “SETUP.” Press the “MENU” button and then press the “LEFT” arrow key. Firmware version will be displayed)? Also, have you tried rolling back to an earlier version of the firmare? Just throwing out ideas really...

As a total aside, I have a Ltl. Acorn 5210a camera (https://www.acorncamera.com/ltl-5210a-trail-camera-940nm.html) that I modified to have two additional PIR motion sensors on 1m leads, the idea being that there'd be less chance of missing an animal detection. However, I haven't had a chance to test it in the wild. Would you be interested in collaborating on a test of the idea? If it works and improves detection rates, it'd be a neat little paper maybe which we could also collaborate on. Anyway, I am happy to send it to you if you'd like to try it? I think I also have one unmodified camera that I can also send for comparison.

Best of luck. Cameras can be a real pain sometimes.

Cheers,

Rob
