Hello all,
With various co-authors led by James Duffy, we've just published a paper on using drones in challenging environments (attached). This is hopefully helpful to members of this thread, and likely has some commonalities with the google doc-based project some of you have been involved in on how to use drones for conservation research.
I'm particularly pleased that the paper includes a section on using drones in challenging social environments - i.e. in places where there are people around and potential for conflict with local stakeholders. We offer a few early suggestions on how these challenges might be mitigated - anyone who would be interested in participating in research into the effectiveness of these approaches, please let me know!
Best wishes,
Chris
