I'm looking for cities that aggregate envrironmental data from open sources, and potentially their own monitoring sources, in online digital tools that facilitate visualization and storytelling for education and policy advocacy. Data examples would be remote sensing, satellite imagery, and GIS analysis to provide near-real time reporting and/or data over time comparisons.
I'm trring to design such a project for my city to help fight for urban tree canopy in the face of exponential development, and need some inspiration! There is so much data out there, but pulling it together into a digital tool that makes the data useful is the challenge.
Thanks for any input!
