Hi,
I have 4 years of experience in the field of piping stress analysis as a mechanical engineer. After 4 years I got interested and wanted to work in the field of environmental conservation. In order to do that I did a Masters in MSc. Environmental Monitoring, Modelling and Reconstruction from University of Manchester. A few skills I gained from the course were :
1. Habitat connectivity Analysis using R studio
2. Spatial analysis of chemicals in river using R studio
3. Flood modelling using Jacobs flood modelling
4. Research experience in the field of environmental restoration. (mangrove restoration, peatland restoration)
I was positive that I would be able to secure jobs in this area after my matsers completed in Nov 22. But I have not been able to secure any job in this field as of yet. Everyone wants experienced professionals.
My areas of interest are:
1. Spatial Ecology
2. Modelling and monitoring using programming softwares
3. Mechanical solutions for ecological issues.
4. Env resoration.
Note : Though I am interested in these areas, if there are no jobs available for a fresher like me. I can get a PhD in a related field or try for job opportunities in other domains. Also I am willing to relocate to any welcoming country.
My questions are :
1. Any suggestions related to where i could get a job in UK or other countries?
2. If I pursue a PhD, which area should I go : spatial ecology, flood modelling, environment sciences related, env+mechanical related. Please guide me which type of PhD and which area would help me secure a job after completion.
Please find my CV attached for reference.
