Bird Bioacoustics - Good Practice Guidance

Hi all,

In order to help the development of bioacoustics methods in the UK, I've recently produced some draft guidance, focussed on survey and monitoring of birds (attached).  This has been published in the journal of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management, to target used by ecology consultants and conservation practitioners. It would be great if any WildLabs members could make use of it too - or provide any feedback to help further develop standardised methods.

To help illustrate one possible application, I've also attached a recent piece of research conducted on capercaillies, investigating whether we can use bioacoustics methods for assessing population sizes of this lekking species.  I hope this is interest too..

Happy reading!
