Working together for wildlife

Dear WILDLABS Human Wildlife Conflict Community,

Thank you again for your interest in being part of a community discussing and developing tech innovations to address HWC, which remains a key challenge as we work to further conservation of many different species. We have been thinking through ways to improve engagement with this community in a way that continues to foster discussions and provoke thought, and as I look at it, there is no better way to do that than to brainstorm together. So, in the spirit of bolstering teamwork, I would like to introduce you to my colleague @Femke+Hilderink , no stranger to the WILDLABS platform and a familiar face in relation to our HWC Tech Challenge, with whom I will be co-managing this HWC Community.

To provide a brief introduction to my co-manager, Femke Hilderink co-coordinates the HWC Working Group, of which I am also part, for the WWF Network. As referenced above, she facilitated the HWC Tech Challenge in coordination with WILDLABS. At WWF, she focuses on conservation programmes mainly in the Altai Sayan and Amur Heilong ecoregions and the Arctic. Femke studied Forest & Nature conservation at Wageningen University in the Netherlands.

As we start this exciting next chapter for this HWC corner of WILDLABS, I also would like to update you that we will be posting new threads, papers and articles on HWC and questions to engage this community on a regular basis. We hope you will take the leap, post your own topics, start your own threads, and join in these discussions so we can continue to find ways to work together to help wildlife and people.

Best,

Nilanga

Hi Nilanga, Thanks for introducing me here and I'm looking forward to some interesting discussions with everyone here! Femke
