Background

SafetyNet Technologies (SNTech)  designs and builds Precision Fishing technology (including underwater video camera, selective fishing lights and net mounted sensor) to increase the selectivity of commercial fishing operations, contributing to a more sustainable fishing industry. We are at a stage where we’re transitioning from a research focused company with successful scientific trials to a more commercially focused one so we can start replicating the successes in industry and make a bigger impact!

 

Responsibilities

  • SafetyNet are looking for a highly entrepreneurial North America sales lead to grow the NA market with responsibility for the full sales cycle from prospecting, negotiation and closing of deals.
  • Build strategic relationships and convert sales with fishing organisations, distributors, fishermen, scientists, seafood retailers and regulators.
  • The successful candidate would be first person ‘on the ground’ in the US with potential to shape and grow the US market and team.
  • Around the theme of Precision Fishing, provide strategic US direction on new product and service development and partnerships
  • Share product feedback from customers with the SNTech team
  • Create Customer Success stories
  • SNTech NA brand ambassador and educator
  • Travel as applicable

 

Qualifications

  • Strong sales/business development experience and an extensive fishing network
  • Passionate about fishing and the benefits of increasing the selectivity of commercial fishing practices, making the industry more sustainable.
  • Experienced with introducing and building relationships across many different sectors in the fishing industry
  • You are someone who has been out on boats, working in and around fishing or survey operations.
  • You have helped a team (your own or your customer) adopt new technology for your workflows.
  • You have worked with a CRM before (Salesforce.com, Hubspot, etc)
  • Manage creation of materials to market to buyers
  • Work well with internal teams
  • Develop new market opportunities
  • You gather and use data to provide ROI
  • Experienced with complex deal negotiations
