Exploring an ethical reflection tool for animal-focused tech (Survey)

Hi everyone!

My name is Leah Govia and I am a PhD candidate at the University of Guelph, Canada. My research explores what people think/do about ethics during the development and use of animal-focused technologies (e.g. conservation tech, pet tech).

As part of the project, I’ve created an interactive survey where you are presented with fictional scenarios about technology and get to give feedback on ethical concerns that appear. I am trying to explore this type of survey as a tool for ethical reflection in animal-focused tech development.

If you have any experience/interest in developing technologies related to animals of any kind, it would be great to hear your thoughts. The interactive survey takes about 20 minutes to complete. There are also 3 gift card prizes to be won in a draw. For anyone interested, here is the survey link:

The project has been reviewed by UofG’s Research Ethics Board for compliance with federal guidelines for research involving human participants (REB#22-06-013). Please contact me at [email protected] if you have any questions. Thank you!
