eDNA from terrestrial plant

Hi everyone. I'm still confused about this. Is it feasible to employ environmental DNA (eDNA) for the detection of two distinct communities (animal and plant) within a single ecosystem in one running? In this instance, the bark of tree A can be utilized to ascertain the presence of animals residing within tree A, while the soil in another location can be employed to determine the historical existence of tree A. Thank you for your help!
