My team has a collection of camera traps in tropical forest canopies and one question that emerged is: can we infer light incidence from camera trap data?



We are specifically interested in inferring how much light is reaching a specific surface (heating effect), but we would also benefit from how much light is available (visibility). Our main taxa in study are primates.

I have seen the topic discussion bellow about dataloggers but it does not seem that a solution has emerged, neither the suggested equipaments are appropriate for our aims.
