A 3D printable, drone and ROV-mountable, water sampler

The Niskin bottle, a seemingly simple tube designed to take water samples at discrete depths, is one of the most important tools of oceanography. However, these bottles are not cheap nor easy to deploy. Dr Andrew David Thaler has developed a new, open source Niskin bottle that can be printed on a 3D printer and mounted on drones or ROVs. And he's shared the specs and maker instructions on his blog, Southern Fried Science.
