New emerging technologies are starting to reshape ocean management and governance: like video/AI monitoring of fishing boats, ocean observation systems incorporating a variety of sensors, and increasingly complex fish stock models. However, we know that technologies have not always had equitable impacts: like uneven Internet/device access (the "digital divide,") and biases in AI models. So, how do we ensure that ocean management technology is fair to everyone?
