Africa Climate Week (ACW) 2023

This year's Africa Climate Week will take place from 4th - 8th September 2023 in Nairobi, hosted by the government of Kenya. ACW 2023 will be organized in parallel with the African Climate Summit on 4th - 6th September, also hosted by Kenya.

Africa Climate Week 2023

Africa Climate Week is one of four Regional Climate Weeks that will be held this year to build momentum ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference COP28 in Dubai and the conclusion of the first global stocktake, designed to chart the way for fulfilling the Paris Agreement’s key goals. It provides a platform for the continent’s policymakers, practitioners, businesses and civil society to come together in advance of COP28, to exchange on climate solutions, barriers to overcome and opportunities realized in different regions. 

The Weeks consider four major systems-based tracks with a view to providing region-focused contributions to inform the global stocktake:

  1. Energy systems and industry
  2. Cities, urban and rural settlements, infrastructure and transport
  3. Land, ocean, food and water
  4. Societies, health, livelihoods, and economies
