AI for wolf ID

We're seeking training data for AI for wolf ID - we at T4C manage 3 Wildbook platforms: Wild North, Whiskerbook and the African Carnivore Wildbook (ACW).  Together with our partners at Wild Me, we want to add more species to the platform in order to expand its value to conservation. Right now, we're looking to add wolves - any subspecies. To do that we need to train the ID algorithm using photographic ID kits - a minimum of 3-5 ID'd images of a given individual, and we're hoping to collect a minimum of 100 such ID kits.

Wildbooks are fully open source and available at no cost to accredited conservationists. The data would be used only for training the model for the WildBook platform, and not for any other purpose.  We’d be happy to sign a data sharing agreement.  And, of course, this is all in support of the wolf science community.

Please get in touch if you or someone you know has wolf photographic ID kits. And please spread the word!

Thank you!
