The challenge

The bank’s data analytics team are expert at monitoring risk and opportunities within the financial sector. A small-scale pilot study to determine biodiversity impact on supply chain facilities indicated that their assessment methodology was feasible but not scalable. The team sought a scalable and transparent solution to assess biodiversity impact across millions of global facilities that make up complex supply chains.

Solution

Earth Blox partnered with the bank to develop a set of custom and repeatable analyses that produce a biodiversity risk heat map for supply chain facilities worldwide. The solution combines the most authoritative nature and climate data and is powered by the cloud for rapid analysis and processing. Earth Blox enabled the bank to broaden its geographical scope and double the biodiversity indicators analysed for enhanced accuracy.
