Our 8th annual #Tech4Wildlife Photo Challenge begins today! 

From July 24th-28th, we invite you to share your best photos and videos showcasing how you use and build technology in your conservation work. 

Every year, WILDLABS bring together users and makers of conservation tech worldwide to celebrate their groundbreaking innovations and ideas, successes, and the incredible wildlife and habitats protected and studied with tech tools of all kinds. From AI and camera traps to eDNA and sensors, and everything in between, we want to see your tech tools in action. We want this challenge to show the world to see how far conservation tech has come over the past eight years, and how technology is empowering this community's critical projects globally. 

When we launched our #Tech4Wildlife Photo Challenge in 2016, we never imagined how much it would grow over the years, how many community members would share their photos and stories with us, and how technology would change. This challenge is your chance to shine a spotlight on your projects, big or small, and demonstrate the diverse and creative ways that you're making an impact in wildlife conservation. And it's our chance to share your projects with not only our community, but people around the world who want to know more about how technology is transforming the field of conservation for the better.

In past years, our #Tech4Wildlife Photo Challenge has reached over 1.5 million people, and photos have gone on to be featured in major publications like the New York Times. 

When you share the story of your work in our photo challenge, you're sharing the story of why technology matters to the future of conservation with the biggest conservation tech audience in the world, and with viewers who can learn from your projects and successes.

How to Join the Challenge

This year, our challenge will take place using the hashtag #Tech4Wildlife across Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn, with winners and participants highlighted on the WILDLABS platform and across our social media channels.

To join our challenge this week, all you have to do is:

📸 Take or find photos or videos of how you use technology in your conservation work. There is no entry limit per project, individual, or organization.

📢 Share it on Twitter, Instagram, or LinkedIn, and tell us a bit about your work and the tech featured. 

🌍 Engage with the global community and get inspired by other conservation tech users and makers by following #Tech4Wildlife all week long!

This year, we'll honor challenge participants whose photos and videos highlight these broad categories that capture the variety and depth of our community's work:

• Species Spotlights
• Community Science

The following week, we'll count down this year's honorees, selected by panelists from WILDLABS and leading conservation organizations. 

And for the first time, we've introduced a new Community Choice Award to let all of you honor the photos and videos that best showcase the innovative, impactful, and unique conservation tech projects happening throughout the WILDLABS community. Cast your vote here!
